Wildwood, Florida · 12U Select
The Wildwood Warheads are a 12U select baseball program that grew directly out of the City of Wildwood's own Cal Ripken season — the same players, a higher level of competition, and a schedule that takes them beyond the county line.
Wildwood Warheads operates as a spring-season extension tournament team under the City of Wildwood's existing Cal Ripken/Babe Ruth charter. Because the city already ran a spring season, our players step onto the tournament trail already eligible — no separate club to join, no starting from scratch.
Priority roster spots go to players who came up through Wildwood's spring season. Remaining spots are filled through open tryouts, so the team stays rooted in the community it represents.
We compete in Cal Ripken tournament play under the city's charter and layer in a USSSA travel schedule — giving our players a genuine select-level slate against the strongest 12U competition in the region.
Year one is deliberately lean — day-trip tournaments, a focused roster, a schedule anchored by our series with Rotary Sportsplex of Ocala — built to prove the model before we scale it.
Wildwood Warheads exists to give 12U players from Wildwood and the surrounding area a real shot at select-level competition — without asking a single family to leave the community that raised them to find it. We're building a program that's financially sustainable through local sponsorship, light on administrative overhead for the city, and heavy on development, discipline, and respect for the game.
A confirmed six-game series with Rotary Sportsplex of Ocala — the region's other true Select-tier Cal Ripken program — headlines our first season, alongside a growing slate of USSSA tournament weekends.
We're filling the remaining spots on our 15-player roster now. Spring-season Wildwood players get first priority — everyone else, come show us what you've got at an open tryout.
