We're building a 15-player roster for our first select season. Here's exactly how spots are filled and how to get your player in front of our coaching staff.
Wildwood Warheads is an extension of the City of Wildwood's spring Cal Ripken season, so roster construction reflects that.
Players who competed in Wildwood's spring season are already tournament-eligible under the city's Cal Ripken charter and get first priority for roster spots — no separate tryout required.
Remaining spots on the 15-player roster are filled through open tryouts, welcoming 12U players from Wildwood and surrounding communities who want to compete at the select level.
Fill out the form below so we know to expect your player and can send tryout-day logistics (what to bring, arrival time, field location).
Players check in with coaching staff, get assigned a number, and run through a brief warm-up alongside the rest of the group.
Coaches evaluate hitting, infield and outfield defense, arm strength and accuracy, catching (if applicable), and baserunning — the same categories used to build every position on the roster.
Depending on turnout, players may see live at-bats or situational defense so coaches can evaluate game speed and decision-making.
Coaches finalize the 15-player roster and contact families directly with results and next steps — uniform sizing, schedule, and team account setup.
Open to players who meet 12U Cal Ripken age requirements for the current season. Not sure if your player qualifies? Reach out and we'll check.
Glove, cleats, athletic wear, a bat if your player has a preferred one, and plenty of water. Batting helmets will be available on-site.
Because the team runs both a Cal Ripken tournament schedule and a USSSA travel schedule, costs are structured separately for each — full details are shared with registered families before the season starts.
Tell us about your player below. We'll follow up with tryout dates, location, and everything you need to know before showing up.
